Inspired by feelings of loss and melancholy about the downfall of the world, Weltschmerz delivers its own brand of black metal.
The band was originated by drummer Valr and guitarist Hraesvelg in early 2009 as a result of another band falling apart. They were quickly joined by vocalist Hreim. After releasing a debut EP called Cry For War in the same year the band was joined by bass player Vidar. The EP was later re-released on tape by the Zwaertgevegt label.
The band has just released a three-song promo which was made available for free download. The band is currently working on a split-album with the Mexican black metal band Demonic Hordes, which will be released through the Svartgalgh label. Besides that a split-album with the Malaysian black metal band Omen is also in the works. More information to come!
